Might as well chime in too. My '70 6 has never known anything but a unisync.
Has always worked fine. The Speedster on the other hand has dual 44 IDF Webers
and not enough air flow on idle, stalls the engine when uni is dialed in to
work. Solved the problem by putting a piece of masking tape over the air flow
hole (technical term) opposite the vacuum port in the uni. The air flow
adjuster can then be adjusted to  operate the sync and keep the engine
running. YMMV, works for me.
