Jim, Dick and team, I have used bronze guides in all my rebuilds and I use
them in my race car (63 TR 4) and I promise it gets used about as hard as an
engine can be used. I am just rebuilding it now for the new season and the
bronze guides were the only thing that didn't need replacing. Don't know
where
the machinist got his information but it doesn't ring true to me.
