Might be a bad plug. Just got done tracking down a miss on my
TR6, replacing the plugs with a fresh set and cured the problem. The
miss occurred primarily under 2000 RPM, and was intermittent. Noticed it
most when pulling way from a stop sign. This might explain a whitish
plug if the spark were weak and/or not there although my plugs were a
uniform gray brown.
The recommended plug (Champion RN12Y or RN9Y) are resistor
plugs. I think the resistor in them can go open, causing a miss. That is
what I suspect in my case.
Champions are currently made in Mexico, and I am guessing that
the quality may have slipped.
