Subject: [6pack] Fan Eliminator Query

Hi,
I did an electric fan conversion for a client about a month ago and the fan=
extension eliminator piece was not drilled out for the dowel pins on the h=
armonic dampener. We had to remove the damper and then work the dowel pins =
to get them out so the eliminator piece would bolt flush. This added a coup=
le of hours to the job because you have to pull the upper cross brace and t=
he steering rack (assuming that you leave the engine bolted in. Actually, w=
e even undid the engine mounts.
In any case, I recall one or two different kits that were drilled out for t=
he dowel pins. Am I "mis-remembering"?
As a point of reference, I have done at least five of these conversions, bu=
t prior to last month, it's been close to 20 years since the last install. =
BTW - getting rid of the engine-driven fan is an awesome upgrade for TR6's!=
!
