The original ones I have seen have always been painted.

Were stock pulleys chrome or painted? Or was chrome an aftermarket option. I
have seen both over the years. Thank you.

Hi all,

I spent some time installing the head on my SII this weekend. On my test
drive the generator pulley flew apart (quite exciding, really). Has this
happened to anyone else? Also, any ideas for a replacement? SS doesn't
carry them, and I have not called Smitty yet. Should I be worried about any
40 year old pulley coming apart? Is there a steel replacement?

Thank

Cole
