Well, it depends if it is worth the expense to restore it. I personally
would like to see the car restored in the right way, and that's going to
take, money, time and work! The original cost of the car is incidental
($400) compared to the total cost of new sheet metal, paint, new parts
and LABOR! Dipping the body, Martel panels, and fitting/welding and body
work and paint materials will probably start at $3,000 without labor
charges. This is a basic estimate that can be applied to all the
Alpines. Restoring the early cars might require more effort, because
they were designed with more complications than the more simply designed
series V. Statistically speaking, most people like the later Alpine.
However, from what I saw at the Invasion, the trend maybe changing.
