Need metal polish/protectant for high heat items

I need to know what to use on metal to keep it from oxidizing.  Specifically, 
I'm talking mufflers and exhaust pipes, and heat shields around an exhaust
manifold.  I want to make it look clean and shiny, and not turn colors
when it gets hot.
