In our case, it's having a decent site. We have a hard enough time
getting sites to hold a 80 to 100 car regional on Sunday. Finding
something for a 300 car weekend event would be nearly impossible. Another
issue is experience. My guess is less than 10 of our members have ever
been to a Divisional or Nationals. Before hosting one it be good to see
how they are supposed to be run.
Va Motorsports Park near Petersburg would make a good site but it's a bit
outside our area. We have discussed holding one at some point but until
we can get a decent lot, it's just a dream.

Hey, we'd love to have a SEDiv event up in your neck of the woods
(Carolina's/VA), but either the regions up there don't want to host one or
lack a proper sight. If you or anyone else up that way can come up with
any
ideas I'll listen.
ps: the Ozark, AL SEDiv event, on the same Aug 12 - 13 weekend as the Peru
CENDiv, is just as nice of a site, though perhaps more abrasive. The
actual
concrete course area is nicer since it lacks the bumps. The humidity
there
in Aug is pretty tough, though.
