And we will see cars that cost this much in SM, high budget cars win, look
at AP in 99, the car that won was $250,000 (my guess).
It has always been apparent that SM could be one of the highest cost classes
that we have.

It's funny you should mention SM costs....

SM, being born out of STS, and STR, was seen as the ultimate class for cheap
street cars.

Then, the rules came out, and, I gotta tell ya, a full-boogie SM car has the
potential to be the most expensive car (modification-wise) in Solo II. It's
just that nobody is even close to having a full-boogie SM car. The only
cheap part of it is that you don't have to start with an expensive car.
However, Prepared has them beat there.....

A buddy showed me an article about a Supra (I know, not exactly a cheap car)
that made 600+ hp, and had all sorts of handling goodies on it. Plus, all
the street aerodynamic helpers necessary to complete the image... ('nuff
said)

Anyway, do y'all know what the tab on this beut was? The owner guessed
around $70,000 after all the testing was done. For $70,000, I'd want a
better image than THAT, but hey, I'm a CP driver, so what do I know about
image?

>From the details of the article, this thing would be legal in SM. I don't
know how much good 600 turbo HP will do on DOT tires, but he obviously did
not care before writing the checks.....
