Sounds like the spectators weren't fully informed on the dangerous
nature of the event.
The event pre-press probably didn't help any either. It reduced the
perceived risk of the event by the nature of it's celebrity focus
(e.g. police chief wiggins says "woo hoo", etc.).
Shame on the event organizers for failing to set up a "safe" viewing
area. (Another example of why we have a hard time getting event
sites... )
