More like 950.  But the event is forced to limit entries in many ways
because we simply could not accomodate more than a 1000 competitors.  Its
already the longest event of the year.  Pits open on Monday afternoon with
Final Eliminations on Labor Day.  One year we went, made three passes,
failed to qualify and came home.  4500 miles or so round trip for three 1/4
mile time trials.  Rough stuff.  Winning is better.

They don't allow the Super Streeters in at all.  Stock and Super Stock have
to run in 4 divisional races to recieve an entry.  Super Gas and Super Comp
have to run 5 divisional races to recieve an entry.  These races can be run
in the previous season or in the current season, but you can't combine
years.  So, basically, only those racers running a full slate of divisional
races gets to even enter the US Nationals.  Comp, TAFC, and TAD require 3
races.  With division director permission a car owner can switch drivers.
