Results are in for BSPL and BS so far. Patti Yeo started off with a great
lead in BSPL. As they all run at eight in the morning, clearly conditions
change. Unfortutely, she slowed down for the rest of her runs, while Mary
Wentzel and Linda Shelton sped up. What a run by Wentzel, though. She's got
a 2.2 second lead over Linda Shelton. Elise Geiger is hanging in there in
sixth.

In B Stock, my favorite, George Doganis, is in 12th. The fastest first
generation Miata is his protoge, John Godden, in 9th. Wow, so that means I
would have REALLY beaten them by a lot this year, not. I can't find Craig
Boyle in the results, so I don't know what the deal is.

E Modified is probably finishing up as I type on the South Course. Remember:
this is the more technical of the two. I'm not really sure which course
would give Barry Spence an advantage, but I'm guessing it's the Frank
Stagnaro south course, with its high speed chicanes, third gear even. These
are the courses Barry's been running all year. This means if he's going to
break into the lead, he's got to do it today, and maintain it as best as he
can tomorrow. This is provided the south course really is his forte, which
I'm banking that it is.

Can you just see me announcing for CBS?

Group 2 is preparing for the North course now. We've got the Corvette of
Jeannine Breeze duking it out with Amy Rose Herrick in the turbo charged
RX-7. In CSP, we have two hopefuls: Tom Ellam, hoping for a comeback in his
RX-3, and Bret Norgaard in his CRX. Bret's been running strong all year, but
then blew a motor at a most critical time of year. They pieced it back
together, and he told me, "We'll either win, or blow up trying." We'll see.

Back after these messages.
