North American Pylon for January 2001 went into the mail today and should
be arriving at subscriber's mail boxes within a week.
(If it isn't, complain to your local post master.)

This month we feature
-New Year's Day event at Marina (CA) Airport organized by NASA's
San Francisco Region. Shirt-sleeve weather prevailed.
-A slightly colder event at Rainbow Falls Park, Colorado, where
studded tires prevailed along with jackets and fur caps.
-A January events by SCCA's Las Vegas Region at Las Vegas Motor
Speedway.
-A January event by Arizona Region, the Millennium Madness.

The 2001 PAX index is on page 2. So is the RTP index.
We printed the 2000 indexes for both so you can compare where you're going.

Columns:
Pat Kelly looks at the "Secret Car Club of America."
Lorenzo the Scribe digs into the Anarchy prevailing in the Street
Mod ranks and the whys behind banning Porsches, etc. but welcoming
Asian-built machinery.
Warren Leveque explains why the PT Cruiser is a neat vestigal
machine.
J.D. Kemp provides words for the Don McLean tune but he doesn't
"drive his Chevy to the levee."

Features:
We interview Brian Priebe of South Bend, IN, winner of the ST-S
Championship last September and two other titles before that. What's really
unusual is that he didn't borrow a car this time.
Arranged so you can clip out the pages to form a hand book, we
present the beginnings of Roger H. (the Real) Johnson's major points on
good course design.
A rather large aerial photo shows the site of the Lubbock, TX, Pro
Solo on April 21-22.
Letters to the Editor includes at least one "heckle" but also a
letter by Gordon Kinney to the Solo Events Board to help straighten out
what CP drivers perceive is a real need in their rules structure.
The Autocross Calendar is starting to grow. Calendar chairs please
send in your information. Pylon tells you where the action is.

candleight in California, send $24 for 12 monthly issues to:
