Okiedokie, let's run with this one. Vijay is standing out on course with an
umbrella which hasn't yet been torn out of his hands by the Candlestick
Point winds. James comes through his section of the course sawing at
the wheel trying to countersteer way too much torque and simultaneously
trying to clear the windscreen with a wiper blade on a curved stick. Let's
say, oh, six cones go scattering. Vijay charges off holding the radio to
his hip with one hand and trying to work the microphone with the other
while also holding the umbrella and tipping it in the direction he is
running
in a futile effort to stay dry. Vijay resets one cone, two cones, and now
must retrieve one from the center of the course which needs tossing to
a fellow course worker.

Just as Vijay reaches midcourse a wind comes up causing him and a third
course worker (with a red flag) to tip their umbrellas in the direction of
a black Lotus Elan entering their section of the course on Hoosier rain
tires that work really well in the wet.

Please don't take umbrellas out on course. I don't want to finish this
story for real, and they won't keep you dry anyway should there
be any amount of wind and/or you actually do some work. Rubbers
and rain suits *will* keep you dry, warm, and maybe, alive.
