In response to the request for Solo II topics for the upcoming NorPac
Roundtable in Reno in January, I have sent Mike Leuty, the outgoing SEB rep
from NorPac, the following topic suggestions:

Suggestions for NorPac Round Table Solo II subjects:

Safety: Why a course which is lined on both sides is safer for BOTH drivers
and, especially, course workers. Unmarked slaloms require workers to be
considerably further away which requires a longer time to respond for pylon
replacement.

Car classifications for 2002. Why the SEB did what it did.
In Stock: Why are BMWs and Hondas in so many classes? Does it
relate to potential, sponsorships? Does SCCA "follow the money?"
        In Prepared:
                1) Why is the four-valve 1.8-liter Mazda Miata in the same
class as 948cc Sprites?
                2) Why is the four-valve Honda CRX in the same class as
two-valve Spridgets?
                3) Why you should avoid buying an orphan car and why the
SEB does not treat them kindly?
                4) What to do if the SEB turns your car into an orphan?
                5) Since AP is now really a Modified class, why doesn't the
SEB change the designation to G Mod, or something.

In Modified:
Where does that small Mini Cup car powered by a Honda 405cc
industrial engine go?

In Street Modified:
As SM is for four-passenger cars, will the SEB introduce a
two-passenger version for older cars barred from SM? Will there be an SM2
for the newer two-passenger cars, like the Toyota Spyder?
Why is the difference between a DOT Street Tire and a DOT Race tire
at 120 for the wear number?
Why not just change F Prepared back to A Prepared, now that the
Lotus Europa, etc, have had so much ballast added they've quit the class,
and call the new-new AP
G Modified? Or change EM to a 2000 lb minium weight?
Why is the new-new AP shrinking? 11 cars the first year; seven cars
in 2001. The old AP was deemed in trouble when it got down to three cars.
How do you write a rule that determines when the last tube has been
welded into place on a Prepared or Modified Production car that turns it
into a "real" race car worthy of the 10% tube frame penalty? Will the 10%
penalty still apply if I use carbon fiber pieces instead of tubes to
connect all the corners of a chassis?
If I use a Formula Atlantic chassis and bolt on a Lotus Europa
body, do I have to add extra ballast?

That should be enough to start some discuissions.
