Maybe at GGF events we should either have a "town crier" worker position, 
or add an extra event chair, to take care of the paddock.  Then, you can 
have one chair at the motorhome (taking care of workers, course, and the 
trailer crews), one taking care of grid (keeping things running, making 
sure the tech crews are cranking, etc.), and the third one spreading info 
in the paddock and available to answer the "are we going to have fun runs" 
question at registration.

Of course, this would mean trying to find another event chair, and it's 
hard enough finding two for each event.  Maybe some of you who jumped at 
the chance to computerize registration could volunteer to chair an event 
instead...
