Riley is in the process and changing his email account and currently does
not have access to the list. So, I'm posting this for him. He poses some
Damn fine questions and could make several good articles for The Brickline
mag.

Anybody want to take them on?

John

>Questions about Bricklins that have hard to find answers
>
>1: Aopproximately 2900 cars rolled off the production line before the
>factory was shut down. The web page says some cars were assembled from
>spare parts with VIN's over the 3000 mark. That means about 100 cars
>were built after Bricklin closed its doors. The web page says that at
>least 1500 cars still exist today. Out of 1500 cars, 350 are registered
>with Bricklin International. Unless the Organization of Bricklin Owners
>(OBO) has 1250 cars in its database, we are talking about a lot of cars
>that are currently missing!!! How many cars are listed in the Roster?
>
>2: according to Malcolm Bricklin, there was a yellow car that rolled off
>the production line! Imagine that! A safety yellow Bricklin?! Anybody
>know who owns this car? How about a VIN number? Yellow was to be a
>color for the 1976 or 1977 model year. I sure hope the panels are in
>good shape! Painting that car would be virtually unforgiveable, unless
>it was painted the exact same color as when it left the factory. If I
>ever do get another Bricklin, this one would be at the top of my list,

>3: Malcolm says the company had received approval for extra financing
>right before it closed, but was instead shut down illegally. Why?

>4: What ever happened to the Grey Ghost? Who owns it, and where is it

>5: Malcolm was at BIG I to talk about a Bricklin-Turner power plant that
>was capable of 100%+ improved fuel economy, had a much simpler rotary
>design, and could be fully dissasembled in five minutes with a
>screwdriver and a pair of pliers. A guy from Texas named Frank Turner
>designed it, and Mal was the guy promoting it. There was talk of
>companies using this design in their cars. What happned? Did the
>powerplant have any bugs, or did malcolm's reputation kill a worthy
>product?
>
>6: There was at one time, talk about a Bricklin SV2. Mal started selling
>Mini-Bricklins to raise money for the project. It was supposed to use a
>different powerplant, called the Frank Turner powerplant. Were any
>prototype drawings or cars ever made? Did this powerplant have bugs?
>How did it differ from the Bricklin Turner powerplant?

>7: The Chassis design and the high impact safety bumper system were
>designed to redirect collision force around the passenger compartment
