The event which precipitated The Roadster Factory getting into MGs was
fairly simple. As a British Heritage supplier, TRF gets the weight of
that organisation and other dealers behind getting new parts reproduced.
BMH basically came out and told all its dealers that if you want to be a
BMH dealer, than you have to sell Triumph AND MG parts. Rather than go
their own way, TRF opted to add MG parts. For a while it looked as if
BMH may also have included Jaguars, but I guess since Jag is (was) a
private compay rather than a branch of Rover that idea was tossed. Of
course, this could all be totally wrong, I can't remember where i heard or
read it.
