Ever notice how many folks advertise an XKE for sale? That in itself
should be a clue. At any rate...

:: i have a '68 e-type jag

Sigh.

:: SUs for $1500 (ouch), which is approximately the same price as a
:: NEW set of triple webers with manifold.

I could probalby get you a set of three Weber 40s for about $1300,
if you wanted SK carbs instead (A good copy of the Weber) figure about
a hundred or so less.

:: more power, less work, same price

Are you sure about that less work part? Sure, it *says* a bolt-on
conversion...

:: a devious thought on how to get the su's a little cheaper: buy an old
:: rust bucket e-type with the triple su's, swap the carbs, and sell the
:: rust bucket with my strombergs. would i burn in hell for that?

I figure that with prices today, anyone who can afford ANY E type, even
a rust bucket, must have done *something* for which they'll burn in hell.
Of course that may be just pure jealousy on my part. If only I would have
had the $3000 I needed for that one I drove back in 81... Sigh, yet again.
