Mark-

Dale Cook has gotten things straighten out again. Would you please
take me back off the sol sublist?

Also, after seeing all these anonymous new people joining the list, I
put together an introduction to brit-cars file to send to new
subscribers to get them involved and up to speed. After the general
overview, I try to stress two things; get involved, but keep the
volume down. Could you give it a look over and make any changes or
additions you feel would add to it. Is there a list of british-car
jokes floating around that could be appended to it? That way we won't
have to suffer through retellings of why-do-the-british-drink-warm-beer.
I don't have a spell checker, so there may be some typos. After you
work it over, mail it back. Then I'll pass it on to Roger Garnett to
give him a whack at it too, before bothering Dale Cook and the list in
general about it.

                                  Thanks,
                                  Lawrence Buja

Welcome to the british-cars mail network!

You've just joined an international network of british cars
enthusiasts dedicated to enjoying and maintaining the breed. We
provide an informal support system which ranges from sharing technical
information and locating spare parts or even whole cars to swapping
tales of adventure and daring-do. The scope of this group is simple,
discussion is open to any subject involving british cars. Due to
owner enthusiasm and sheer production volume, much of the discussion
tends to center around the Austin-Healey/MG/Triumph sport
convertibles. (ADD MORE DISCRIPTIVE HERE)

Now that you're officially on the british-cars list, it is only
polite as a new SOL (Scion of Lucas) to introduce yourself and tell us
a bit more about yourself. For example, tell us about your LBC
(Little|Leaking British Car|Convertible|Coupe) and any adventures that
you've had in buying or owning it. Quality LBC-related tales of
treasures found, repairs, racing and rallying, and general
misadventure are always welcome. Please read your british-cars mail
for a few days to get a feel for the style, then feel free to join in.
(ARE THERE ANY MORE ACRONYMS THAT NEED TO BE EXPLAINED?)
