In the current parlance:
Been There. Done That.
I had a really hard time getting the ones in my car to go in as well.
In fact I concluded that the firewall had been built around them. In the long
run, I sliced mine open, got one end on and rotated them in. Then rotated the
slice to the top for minimum wear. I think next time I'll make some ot if Durlin
and groove them for E clips. Has to be easier.
