Main and con. rod bearings for 1500 midget

|Subj: Main and con. rod bearings for 1500 midget

   How do you tell the OEM of the bearings in an engine ?  I know there
are lots of shitty bearing manufacturers around and I wanted to put back
the original type of bearings upon replacement.  The local place uses AE
engine parts.  Since this is a Triumph engine in the car, would it have
been fitted with Vandervall (sp?) bearings originally ?
