Hi Roger,

A couple of weeks back you suggested my snake heater was more likely a
Smiths than a Lucas so I checked the copy of the original Shelby
American invoice I have and sure enough it said Smith [sic] heater in
the options list. This weekend I stripped the paint off of the heater
case and now I'm a bit confused. Stamped on the side of the case are
the words Delaney Gallay above a sort of Saturn shaped logo at the
center if which are the overlapping letters DG. Was Delaney Gallay part
of Smiths? Perhaps Smiths subcontracted the non electrical components?

This may be of interest you: the Shelby American Automobile Club is
having it's 1993 national convention at Watkins Glen. Since my wife is
from the Utica area I've been dropping subtle hints about making a trip
to New York next August. I'd love to see your collection. But even if
I don't make it, the convention would be a good opportunity for you to
see a load of Cobras and GT-40s all in one place.

Roland
