After 3 months, the Midget is back on the road. I put it away in April,
because I wanted to work on it and get it ready for some hillclimbs this year.

I have a set of Vega wheels with 205/60-13 tyres, which I wanted to fit on the
car. This however necessitates cutting out the rear square wheels arches, and
converting them to round wheel arches. A friend of mine has a round wheel
arch Midget , from which I took the pattern. From the pattern I traced it on
to my Midget being careful to take many measurements.

The wheel arches were then cut away, and a very slight lip added so that
the tyres would be completely covered. Over the week-end I had time to
have the rear quarter panels (and the hard top) painted. So seeing as it
was nice and sunny last night, I went for a looong drive. Wow, do those
tyres grip !!!!. I have the BFG R1 compounds, used for road racing, which I
do not expect to last very long, but I should have fun while they last.

I now have to remove a leaf from the leaf springs because the car sits too
high at the back. I hope by the end of the year to convert the rear to coils
springs.

Next on the list, is to convert the front brakes to th eMGB/Spitfire setup.
I have all the parts in the garage, its a case of finding a spare day to
get it accomplished.

are ?
