Don:
Running on is not uncommon during hot weather, however it could also
indicate other problems.
1. If you are running rich you will build up carbon which could cause the
problem.
2. If you are lugging the engine prior to turning it off. Drive the last
half mile in a lower gear to let the engine rev up and clean it self.
3. Check your throttle shafts for looseness. This is the most frequent
cause.
A good place for rebushing and reshafting US carb bodies is The Classic MG
Shop (904) 385-2821 EVENINGS. They only charge #35.00 each plus shipping.
They beed blast the body and machine both flanges while they are at it.
