Bummer MGB Clutch

Well the net seems a bit quiet at the monent, so I thought that I
would attempt to get an answer on my clutch.

The lbc in question is a 77 MGB roadster, and I have just rebuilt the
engine (which hums along nicely now), but which still has a niggling
clutch problem.

During the rebuild, I put in a new clutch plate, but did not replace
the thrust bearing, nor the pressure plate (the mechanic who advised
me said that they appeared to be fairly new, and should be OK).

The problem is that the clutch does not fully disengage, so that
trying to get into reverse is very noisy (grating/rasping noise).

In the forward gears it is not too bad - but that is probably due to the
syncromesh - I suppose.

The hydraulics have all been replaced/rebuilt/re-bled and any touch on
the clutch pedal can be felt immediately on the clutch activation arm on
the side of the gearbox.

Anyone got any suggestions (preferably clean and not changing for a TR)?
Anyone had a similar problem?

I hope not to have to take the engine or gearbox out so soon again, so I
need some advice from you guys.
Thanks in advance

Arthur
