Imron:
Imron is a trade name for Urethane enamel (Dupont's, I think).
My understanding is that it is toxic to the point of needing a
respirator and protective clothing to apply. It is very strong
and flexible and glossy and holds up well against oxidation. It was
developed for the airplane industry, and looked very good on
my E-type V12 :-). I believe that runs are hard to fix because it
cannot be color sanded, though that may be because the color was
silver in my case.

Throttle shafts:
Since silver is soft, I would expect a short life for the material
on a throttle shaft, even if just wearing against rubber seals.
Shafts are available for Weber carbs, perhaps some outfit sells
new shafts for british carbs as well?

Radiator anode:
Ah, yes... the material on boats was zinc as well, not lead.
Foggy memory banks. :-) Any chemists out there have an idea
as to whether lead would work as well?

BTW: I have a 45DCOE and mainifold for an MGB, but have no MGB.
Consequently, I am interested in selling it. Mail me if you
have the reverse situation, and would be interested in buying it...
I'm in San Jose.
