Two years ago, I was driving at Lime Rock with the Empire Jaguar Club,
and was passed once or twice by a 1961 XKE in original shiny blue paint
much like you describe, but not metalic. It looked great... the car
was in breathtaking condition, 5000 original miles (the owner had bought it
new for racing, blew the trans, and left it in a garage for 25 years before
fixing it).
