I believe that all MGB's of the same vintage (or later) had converters. However,
I'm not sure that a tester will know this. My '74 MGB was built with an air
injection system (removed by former owner). One time when I put it in for a
test, the inspector looked the car up in his book, but could not find it! Hence
he did not know what was missing and passed the car.
This is not now a problem for me as I am now driving the car in its homeland
andgetting ready to attend the MG day at Knebworth. Emissions are tested on
100% of
cars here, but the requirements are loose for older cars.
