my $0.02 on garage floors:

I work for the Provincial DOT in the Bridge Branch and if anyone knows
about coating concrete with something that is durable and resists
oil/fuel/salt/vandals, they know. I just took the approved list and went
shopping at the concrete restoration shops. I settled on Dural 304, a 2
part epoxy, in light grey. Enough to do 3 coats cost ~$250. It's been down
for 4 years and is not wearing at all, absolutely will not absorb oil, but
does get stained by shellac. The floor has to be etched with acid before
coating, but the application is easy, although not the nicest smelling
(open the doors and wear a chemical cartridge in the mask). The light
colour sure does brighten up the place! If you plan on working in there
for a long time, do yourself a favour and do the job right!

I built my garage/workshop with the intent of making it exactly what the
old one wasn't. The floor slab is heated with a glycol solution running
through 3/4" poly pipe and is a real joy have when I crawl around under
the Mini in the dead of winter. If anyone North of the bannana belt
wants details, I'll be glad to share.
