I selling my MGB (can I stand it?) to pay for the XJ6 I picked up at
International Motors in Raleigh, NC. They really know Jaqs! Ask to see
their XJ12's!
I was always too hot or too wet with the MGB, since I never had the top
on. But I needed to make lots of long trips and that big motor and
sports (?) suspension of the Jaguar seemed to be just the ticket.
Correct choice! I may not get as much head turns as with topless 'B, but
I perform low flight over California freeways. That cat eats miles, is
very comfortable, (very) occasionally takes the wife and kids and has a
strong a/c when it's over 100 degrees outside. The mechanicals of this 86
XJ6 - Series III are great. I did have a few probs with the electrics,
namely the air-conditioning amplifier, the spark amplifier/computer (at
least that's what the shop guy with a scope said). Heck I even like the
dual fuel tanks!
