My Spit/6 conversion has the Delco Remy distributor (D204) found in
GT6's
with a combination advance/retard vacuum can (in a single unit, not two parts
like
the Lucas dist. on a TR6). My vacuum unit is completely shot and I can't seem
to
find another one. Any advice on where to find one, more common applications of
this distributor, or how to bypass the problem would be helpful. How should I
set
the timing if only the mechanical advance is working?

Also (assuming I get the vacuum unit) I won't be able to hook the retard
vacuum circut back up. There is supposed to be a little valve hooked in
throttle
linkage that applies vacuum to the retard line when you take your foot off the
pedal.
Unfortunately, in my conversion I had to change the linkage to a later version
w/o
the valve. Any suggestions on how I should handle the timing? Thanks ...
