I second Will Z and Greg P's comments on the Chicago Historics. Too
many real interesting cars to mention...just a few:
The all GT40 race was interesting. 19 GT40s in the starting field.
Brian Redman won...and you could tell he was pushing the car. In the
post-race interview, he noted that it missed around 6K rpm so he did
not go over that (he probably would have lapped the field if it was
running any better). There were even more GT40s there than started
the race, including the 66 LeMans winning car.
Interesting 1930s MG in the concours with Landau roof and Mosquito
hood ornament. Original tool set included in wood box...including the
standard British fine adjustment tool, the hammer.
Jeff Lumbard's very nice Unipower GT (mini powered, one of maybe 50)
Three Arnolt Bristols, two of them racing.
Lots of Loti of every description.
A Jaguar XKSS in race trim
Some really immaculate big Healeys, including several 100M models.
One fellow who races a mini cooper pickup truck, was also racing an
Arnolt Bristol, a GT40 (he had another GT 40 for sale, starting to
pile up, I guess), and an XKSS.
(not to mention Ferr**i, but there were two GTOs and 2 SWBs racing)
