I've pondered this problem a number of times. The short answer is that
there isn't any easy and cheap way to do it. One route you might try is
contacting
a local U-haul or Ryder place and see if there is anybody making a similar trip.
If so, you might be able to work out a deal where they'll tow your car for a
nominal fee.
