Webber Carbs.

I,m looking for a webber downdraft carb. and wanted some opinion on the 
cheapest, most reliable, etc as for as dealers go. I've checked a few 
places and found that the cheapest was about 170-180 dollars new. Is 
there a place where I could buy used rebuilt ones or maybe just used 
ones. 
        So what it boils down to is, I don't want to spend a lot of money 
on this project of converting a dual carb. sunbeam alpine series 5 to a 
single carb. (2-barrel) webber powered alpine.
        So if anyone has any information or carbs. or both let me know !!
