4.2 crank

I just came from the Rover dealer inquiring about a 4.2 crankshaft. They
tell me there were two versions, one (more expensive) 1993-5 and another
(somewhat less expensive) for very late 1995. He said the difference had
something to do with engine management system. Can anyone fill me in on
the details of the difference? BTW, I plan to put the 4.2 crank in a 3.9
