For those in the USA etc - there were 5 generations of cortina -

Mk1 was the original, Lotus cortina built by lotus, alloy diff. 'A' frame
etc etc. Mundane cars were strut front, leaf rear

Mk 2 was bigger and boxier, came out about 68 or so Lotus Cortina built by
ford. Strut/leaf.

Mk 3 was bigger again, coke bottle shaped, and went OHC Pinto motor,
probably came out about 72. Wisbone/trailing arm/coil

Mk 4 came out 77 - much squarer again. No major change to underpinnings.

Mk 5 was a facelfted mk 4, best looking of lot. Came out about 1981, lasted
until 1984 ish when Sierra came out (as in Cosworth)
Ford NZ made 30 2 litre turbos - SOHC 2 litre, very quick apparently.
