I pulled both brake drums off and it's looking extremely ugly: everything

I think differential oil is leaking down the rear axle shafts into the
brakes. Has anyone had this problem ? How do i fix this ?
I don't think the wheel cylinders are leaking because I don't recall losing
braking fluid, but again i don't remember the brake fluid level when i
 flushed the system.

Stephan,
Tom Walter has written a tech tip on this. Someone tell him how to get to it,
please, I forget the website.

Anyway, it's pretty straightforward and I'll just add a couple of things. One
is you may be able to use the brake drum as a puller to get the axle out.
Turn the drum around backwards and put it over the wheel studs, then put the
four nuts on backwards and pull on the drum to get the axle out. On mine they
came off really easily. If they don't pull off easy, you'll need to get a
slide hammer. One other thing is it is essential that you replace the collar
as well as the bearing and the seal. If you don't replace the collar, the
axle can come out of the housing, with disastrous results.
