Sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking.  Locate the 3 prong plug under 
the carbs, about 10"
above the starter.  It is connected to the solenoid on top of the starter.  Now 
start the car again.
If the same (starter keeps running), unplug the connector.  If it still keeps 
turning over, the
problem is in the solenoid.  If it stops, it appears that the problem is with 
the wiring harness
(unless pulling on the wiring to the starter caused the solenoid to release).
