Hi everyone
To my surprise a 67 1600 I aquired came with a 5 speed tranny. Looks like
the PO had a U20 installed but now all that remains is a rusty old block.
Im not too sure what condition the tranny is in but its all there.
Anyhow heres my question.
Does the R16 bolt up to the 5 speed or no?
Also how bad of an idea is it to try and rebuild a rusted block? Theres
wells of water in the chambers, the rust hasnt eaten through anything and as
far as I can tell its just surface rust.
Just a thought.
