Greg,

There is some trivia to the Solex Cars.

Every time a bunch of roadster folks get together seems
no one has the "real" answer. Thankfully there are some
original owners around who confirmed "early" 67.5 2000's
showed up with 135 hp dataplates AND Solex engines.

There is a tidbit in the "Introducing the 1967 2000"
manual that was sent to Nissan Dealers at that time.
Seems the SU's were not available until OCT of 1967.
Since some 67 2000's were built before that date, the
were fitted with Solex Carb's.

So some early 67 2000's did show up in the USA with
Solex. Once the SU's vehicles starting arriving in
the USA, some dealers would install the 'sport kit'
(Solex, Cam, Oil Pan) on the 2000's.

Meanwhile the folks in Australia never saw the SU version
of the 2000, as their vehicles arrived with the SOLEX
setup.

Cheers,

Tom Walter
