Yeah, mostly I WAS referring to the roads, but a few other things bothered me
on the trip. Yeah, we all joke about the wackos hiding in the hills, but
(really-no lie,) we did see a marked increase in the number of
white-supremecy/red-neck type bumper stickers on the beat up old Ford p/u's.

Disclaimer: This is NOT my opinion of everyone from Idaho, merely an
observation, and the term "spuds" was meant affectionately.

Also on the trip I have come to the conclusion that Utah should be known as
"The road-kill state" judging from the amount of almost-identifiable animal
debris scattered everywhere. And yes.... the road construction through Salt
Lake City was the worst mess I think I've seen anywhere.

Shall I go on?... One also must notice that as soon as you hit the Nev.
border (uppermost NE corner) the amount of trash on the side of the road
(mostly empty beer/booze bottles) quadrupled. !!! <G> At least the Idaho
roads were clean!

If it makes you feel better, I'll gripe about the roads in my new home here
in the SE Phoenix area. Lack of Planning. Yup. that sums it up. I think this
place got too big for it's britches too quickly, and it appears that the
roads were stuck in wherever convenient. The state auto maneuver is the
U-TURN. Not a day goes by when you don't have to make one, (or go 5 miles out
of your way).

In conclusion.... WAH . There... I feel better now <G>

PS My '70 should be getting red paint on it's top half today.
