Hello All,
With all of the talk about national meets and coast contention, I have been
humbled by a couple of people who have contacted me about joining SoCalROC.
One is a young guy who REALLY wants a 2000. He has asked me for help in
finding him one and I am doing my best to help him. He doesn't care about
national meets or coasts, he just wants a Datsun Roadster and I am going to
help him. Charles Ard is also in the hunt.
Another gentleman from Atlanta contacted me about joining up. Now, if you
are wondering why someone from the East Coast wants to join SoCalROC, the
guy is planning to retire this year and intends to move out our way. A BIG
surprise is his car, which has been in storage for 15 years. It's
SRL311-00199. Yes, a 67.5 2000. The guy didn't know how rare it was and get
this- he's the original owner. He is now way excited about getting the car
running and enjoying it in his retirement.
So I was able to get away from the politics of location and got back to what
I love- the cars. Two different gentlemen with totally different situations.
Yet they both want to join clubs and enjoy the cars. All the rest of it
seems not to matter anymore.
