Yep,
I think both Mike and Roman have good points, however there is
a third option, which I carried out with my POS stroker, which
is to carry out a non-frame-off garage resto. Yep, its got lots of
fiberglass and (oh my) bondo in it, and lots of things are
still not right with it, but it goes like hell and children and
young women wave when I drive by.....and I autocrossed it
and it didnt blow up......and I grin for a day whenever I drive it.
Yep, the engine and tranny were good when I got it, but that
was all. Total cost, not counting 1.5 years of my spare time,
was about 3.5 K. I have all the bills, but am scared to
add them up, might be more like 4K. I think with a bad
engine and tranny you could do the same thing for around
5K.....and yea, its a 5ft paint job, but boy is it RED!
My wife and daughter drive it in a hearbeat whenever
I let them....
Best Regards,
Jim
