While out buzzing around Saturday, I noticed a squeaking noise coming from
the driver's rear wheel. since I had lost that wheel going up to Solvang, I
thought perhaps more had gone wrong than just a couple stripped wheel studs.
The squeaking only occured when turning right. Perfetly quiet going straight
or left. It turned out to be a simple thing. The sheet metal dust shield
behind the brakes had a flat spot from coming down on it when the wheel let
go. The sheet metal rubbed on the outer lip of the brake drum when the two
pushed together going around a corner. A little work with the pliers and the
tires now squeal going around turns, but not the brake drum!
