When I took mine out last time I had the engine apart I did it such that it
can be reinstalled temporarily so as to support the cam gear/chain and then
be removed again before sealing up the engine. I will post a picture of the
modification when I get back home. The only trick now is remembering where
the hell I put my "Friendly L" several years latter when I need it again.
