Idler box

How far out of the top of the threaded bushing does the idler shaft protrude?  
Anyone
know.  I thought I remembered it being almost even with top of the threaded 
bushing but
that seems to leave too much shaft coming out of the bottom of the box.
I hate when I have stuff apart too long to remember how it goes back together.
