wire identification

I have a 69 2000 that I'm going to see if I can start in the next couple of 
days. I have a wire that I need to identify. Just behind the distributor, 
coming thru the firewall, there are two wires taped together. One of these 
wires is yellow, goes to the water temp sender, the other is black w/a plastic 
jacket on it. This wire has a terminal end on it. Where does it going?
