A set of carbon tongs and an arc welder should work. The tongs will heat
the fitting without open flame or excessive heat. I've disassembled things
rusted beyond belief without breakage.
You might try a high temp heat gun. The one I use for paint stripping goes
to 1,000 degrees. Again without open flame. I don't know if this would get
it hot enough as I've never tried it.
