manifold washers

I am putting a 68 2L back together.  The PO use a variety of washers to
bridge the exhaust manifold and header.  I purchased some new (correct)
washers but find that they are too thick to give me enough threads on the
studs.

Are there thinner "thick" washers that people use for this?  If so where do
you go to find them?
